Case Study: The Kingsley Association

An emergency situation with our bookkeeper left The Kingsley Association without the means to maintain our accounting systems. This all happened in the middle of our external audit. Our external auditors highly recommended Donnelly-Boland and Associates (DBA).
 
DBA was very interested in finding solutions that worked for us. They did not use a cookie cutter approach. Their staff got to know us as a company and enhanced existing systems instead of looking to tear down and replace. In doing so, there were able to help us develop a solid strategy for managing the day-to-day accounting operations. They provided immediate and seamless support in maintaining our general ledger and other accounting systems. DBA assisted us in developing policy and procedures that reflected our business needs. The DBA representatives stepped right in and helped us through our external audit process, which was extra challenging since both the auditors and DBA were new to our company.
 
DBA has multiple levels of professional expertise and worked with us to use their staff appropriately, never trying to overcharge us. The expertise and dependability of the DBA staff, along with the fact that they’re easy to work with and have a great sense of humor made them the right fit for our organization.
 
Initially I selected them because they had accountants on staff who had direct experience with some of the grant agencies that were we contracted with. DBA also had certified Quickbooks ProAdvisors, which was very important to me. During the interview prior to hiring DBA, I was impressed with their attitude. They were genuinely concerned about making us happy and satisfied clients. DBA made sure that the staff and resources they provided were based only on OUR needs; they were not just trying to make pounds of money.  
 
They did everything they said they were going to do, and some. I almost dreaded letting them go to find a permanent staff replacement. DBA was instrumental in helping us to recruit and hire a replacement staff accountant. They recruited, screened and interviewed candidates for us.  That replacement is now coming up on his one-year anniversary and is a perfect fit for us.
 
The DBA team emphasizes that they are always just a phone call away. We still call for advice and value our relationship with them. I like that sense of security. We will likely always maintain a relationship with DBA.
 
I have never been apprehensive with my decision in choosing DBA. Their staff of experts is professional and dependable. I would recommend them to friends and associates. They are a nonprofit’s dream consultant.
